Margaret D. McGee has created two new sets of stewardship skits. You may have seen her mini-play "Edythe's Gifts" which, in three brief acts, shows the development of Edythe's understanding of stewardship over a three year time period (with the help of her guardian angel). Although they are written with slightly unfamiliar terminology (Ms. McGee is Episcopalian) they are theologically sound and easily adapted for Lutheran use. AND THEY ARE FREE!
The new sets of skits follow a similar format. Each set of three brief skits uses a small cast and few props to help teach about stewardship in an entertaining manner.
"Ever Blessing, Ever Blessed" follows Edythe to a series of three budget committee meetings. Through traditional hymn tunes with new lyrics, the committee explores the faith aspects of working together amid competing priorities, facing financial fears, and the mystery that a free faith invites us to give everything for God's purposes.
"Abundant Love, Abundant Life" explores the themes of abundance, faith and letting go. The three skits involve Edythe's fears about giving over leadership of the Stewardship Committee to a new team of inexperienced leaders.
I have inserted a link to Margaret D. McGee's website "In the Courtyard", where the skits can be found. I have also attached the skits themselves. Year A - Edythe's Gifts; Year B - "Ever Blessing, Ever Blessed"; Year C - "Abundant Love, Abundant Life"
